Two new plaques commemorating notable Malvern people and buildings were unveiled on 21 June.
The first marked the refurbishment and reopening of the Theatre of Small Convenience. The second was unveiled by Wilfred Noyce’s son Jeremy by the Thirlestane Road entrance to Malvern College.

Theatre of Small Convenience
The plaque marks the refurbishment and reopening of the Theatre of Small Convenience, and Dennis Neale’s role in originally founding it in 1999.
It is situated in Edith Walk in the centre of Great Malvern.
Wilfrid Noyce
Wilfred, who taught at the College, was the first to ascend the South Col during the successful 1953 expedition, and as third in line to ascend the Everest peak, would have become a household name had either Hilary or Tensing been obliged to drop out of the final climb.
