Local Visit: The Forthampton Estate, Gloucestershire

From the eleventh century onwards, the village of Forthampton and its manor house were closely linked with Tewkesbury Abbey. Bought by Issac Maddox, Bishop of Worcester, in 1750, whose only daughter, Mary, married the Revd James Yorke in 1762, it has been in the Yorke family for 250 years. We will enjoy a tour of the manor house and gardens with Anabel Yorke and her Head Gardener and have an opportunity to explore the village afterwards.
