Local Visit: BerringtonHall.

Tuesday 2nd June All day

Berrington Hall is a Georgian house sitting within Capability Brown’s final garden and landscape. Explore the Hall at leisure, being sure to see the court mantua dress – an exemplary example. There are many NT guides who are extremely informative and answer many questions. Our very own Nick St George will provide a garden history and architectural tour outside, including a special talk entitled “Berrington, Brown and the Backlash”. This will examine the background to Berrington’s internationally significant late “Capability” Brown landscape and its neo-classical house, designed by Brown’s son-in-law, Henry Holland.

The venue has a tea room serving cakes and sandwiches.
