Sue Gee is talking at the Elgar and the Novelist event run by Malvern Civic Society

Timothy Day and Sue Gee discuss two novels. Gerontius, by James Hamilton-Patterson, reimagines Elgar’s journey up the Amazon in 1923. In Sue Gee’s Trio, Elgar’s piano pieces called Dream Children weave their way in and out of the story. Join us for a delightful evening of words and music. Tickets cost £10 including wine & nibbles.

Sue Gee is the author of many novels, including two set on the Welsh borders: The Hours of the Night and The Mysteries of Glass. Trio is her most recent, about the lives of three young musicians in 1930s Northumberland. She lives in London and Herefordshire.

Timothy Day, who lives in Plas Gwyn, Elgar’s house in Hereford, is a musician and cultural historian. His most recent book was published in 2018, I Saw Eternity the Other Night: King’s College, Cambridge, and an English singing style.
