A walk starting from Malvern Link that will take us through part of the retail park and then across fields towards Madresfield and through part of the garden and estate, through more fields and then back on the main road to Malvern Link. Conditions could be muddy if wet with one or two slippery paths, some sheep at one point and also cows. Otherwise a level walk with no ascents but with a couple of stiles/gates to be climbed over. Good walking boots and an appropriate jacket for the weather are recommended.

We will pass a recently renovated church and nunnery close to the retail park and pass through a Community Wood together with part of the Madresfield estate with its sunken access road (for gardening staff & tradesmen?). Lovely views of the west side of the Malvern Hills. Dogs are welcome but there will be cattle and sheep in some of the fields so they will need to be kept under strict control!

The walk will cover about 3 miles and take about an hour and a half. Dogs are welcome but they will need to be kept on leads in some of the fields.

We will gather for a 10.00am start to enjoy tea/coffee and cake before the start of the walk

Parking is available in any of the surrounding roads, although Lidl does have some public parking. Also, The Swan Inn is happy for people use their car park if they plan to have lunch there after the walk.

Lunch arrangements:      The Swan Inn, Worcester Road, Newland. WR13 5AY. Tel: 01886 832224. This is a busy, popular pub. We will need to book and pre-order our food on the day. This we can do over coffee and cake before we start on the walk!

Leaders: Dick and Diana Stockford.
