This walk links the two small villages of Castlemorton and Birtsmorton in the Worcestershire countryside on the south-eastern side of the Malvern Hills. There are two lovely churches to visit, and views of, or from, the medieval Castle Tump, with its motte and fish ponds, Birtsmorton Court, and across to the Eastern slopes of the Malvern Hills.
Where to meet
At 1.50pm, ready for a 2.00pm departure, at St Gregory’s Church in Castlemorton, Worcestershire. The church is on the corner of Church Road and Birts Street, in the centre of the village. Please show every courtesy to local residents and road users when parking on any of the roads in the village. As the location is close to Malvern and to reduce our ‘footprint’ please let the walk leader know if you would welcome a lift or if you can offer a seat in a car to others.
Distance
The walk will be approximately 3¾ miles long on very easy, mainly flat terrain.
Walk leader
The walk will be led by Dr Christopher Barnett, the MCS Country Walks Co-ordinator, who can be contacted by email on cabhmw@yahoo.co.uk. Those signing up for the walk will also be given a mobile phone contact together with further details.
