Fownhope
Hereford HR1
UK
The highlight of this afternoon stroll through Herefordshire fields and woods will be a visit to Lea and Pagets Wood. This nature reserve of ancient woodland has an abundance of spring flowers, including bluebells, orchids and garlic. It provides an ideal habitat for a wide variety of birds and butterflies. We will also take in an Iron Age hillfort, Capler Camp, on the way back to the village of Fownhope.
Where to meet
At 1.50 pm, ready for a 2.00pm departure, at St Mary’s Church, Fownhope, which is on the corner of Capler Lane and the B4224 in the centre of the village. Parking is available nearby. Please let the walk leader know if transport is an issue and you would welcome a lift, or if you can offer a seat in a car to others.
