Coach Excursion: The National Memorial Arboretum

The idea of a National Memorial Arboretum was first conceived in 1988. It finally opened at Alrewas, near Lichfield in Staffordshire in 2001. It honours the service and sacrifice of the British Armed Forces and civilian organisations and features over 350 symbolic and thought-provoking memorials. It encompasses 150 acres of beautifully landscaped countryside. It won the Large Visitor Attraction Award in 2018.

Lunch: There is a cafeteria serving hot and cold meals, or bring your own picnic.

Start: Avenue Road at 9am. Return at about 6pm.
