Kentchurch Court, near Pontrilas, Herefordshire, has been the home of the Scudamores for nearly a thousand years. Ralph Scudamore, the first recorded member of the family, built a castle here in 1052.  Many changes have been made since then, with John Nash carrying out a thorough ‘modernisation’ in 1795. Throughout this time, the family has remained in residence. Mrs Lucas-Scudamore is very much in control of arrangements today. The extensive estate and gardens provide a beautiful setting.

  • Cost: £27 (To include tours of house and garden, but not lunch). Maximum number 40.
  • Lunch: Nicely cooked and served lunches are available in the house. Details and menu will be sent to those who book. Alternatively, bring your own picnic lunch.
  • Start: Avenue Road at 9.30am. Return at about 5.30pm.
